Life gets in the way again....

It feels like forever since I have been able to regularly sew and write blog posts it just seems that life keeps getting in the way! I started my job and then I got sick with an upper respiratory infection. I had a whole weekend of sewing planned this past weekend but being sick got in the way of it and all my other plans. But I'm starting to feel better and hoping to spend some time sewing this coming weekend! I also need to take pictures of the place mats I finished.

I am excited to sign up for the upcoming classes at Quilter's Crossing. For my Texas friends their open house is Saturday, July 2nd!

WIP Wednesday

Here is my current Work in Progress:

They are placemats made with Moda Java by Deb Strain for my mother in law's kitchen table. They still need a lot of work but hopefully will be done soon!
Believe it or not I have no other W.I.P.'s this week.

However, tomorrow I am taking a class over at Quilters Crossing for Amy Butler's Birdie Sling.

Next weekend I'm hoping to start a Red, White and Aqua Quilt. Still have to pick the perfect pattern and buy some more fabric for it.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all my blogging friends!

I participated in Quilters Crossings Valentine's postcard swap. I had never made a fabric postcard so it was a fun learning experience. Here is the one that I sent. And here is the really awesome one that I got in the mail!Even my husband was excited when he checked the mail and saw that it was from Quilters Crossing. He ran in and told me about it and insisted on being the one to open the envelope to pull out this amazing postcard. I hope to participate in the future fun activities at Quilters Crossing!

P.S. Giveaway coming very soon! I'm almost to 30 followers!

Weekend Projects and a Sneak Peak

This past week was an exciting but long week of classes. On Monday I used my Christmas gift card to take a Rotary Cutting Class in Humble at It's a Stitch. Wednesday I started back at Sam Houston State for my last semester of undergrad.
Then on Thursday I went to my favorite shop Quilters Crossing in Tomball for a bag class. The bag was the Bowtucks Tote and the teacher was Margaret Grice. Margaret is a wonderful teacher I learned so much from her class. I look forward to taking more classes from her in the future.
The bag was very fun to make and I think it might be the beginning of my bag making addiction! I used Michael Miller's bonehead fabric on it. I have been admiring this fabric for a while but couldn't figure out what to use it on. So when I signed up for this class I decided it would be the perfect fabric for the project.
I'm trying to decide what bag to try next. I really want to make an Amy Butler bag but I'm kind of intimidated by her patterns. Being a beginner I'm not as good at reading patterns and understanding what they are trying to tell me to do. But I'm getting better.
So the rest of my weekend has taken up by two other projects. The major one I'm trying to finish is my Moda Funky Monkey Baby Quilt for a baby shower in a few weekends. I am about 70% done with it. Right now I'm working on quilting it and then I just have the binding left! Here's another sneak peak of it.
I'm also working on some other baby shower stuff since I'm helping throw two showers in the next three weeks. So right now I'm working on making another pair of baby booties! Oh and did I mention that I'm a bridesmaid in my good friends wedding in two weeks!! I'm super excited for her! So that means three weekends in a row full of events.
Well I guess it's goodbye to the weekend and hello to the week. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
