Meet my Baby!

I've been having so much fun with my new baby. She also does embroidery. Which I'm loving. My first project on her is a quilt for my living room.

It's displayed on my new design wall that my husband helped me make last weekend. The pattern I used is the Snuggly Layer Cake Throw found on the Moda Bake Shop. I used mostly Heather Bailey fabric but also added a little bit of Amy Butler fabric.
The back of this quilt is Snuggle fabric which makes it perfect to cuddle up on the couch with. In order to finish it I have to wait for our JoAnn's to reopen in a few weeks to get some snuggle backing for it. They closed our old JoAnn's and they are opening a new one 4x the size of the old one. I can't wait to finish this quilt so I can use it while lounging on the couch searching on pinterest!

My new sewing room.......

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
As promised I have finally taken pictures of my new sewing room. In November my husband and I moved from our very small 2 bedroom condo into our new house. With this move I now have my very own sewing room.

Sorry the pictures aren't that great, it was dark out.
It's still a work in progress and needs some decorating. I have lots of idea for it but I haven't decided which ones to do yet.

Ovarian Cancer Quilt Project

Cancer and the cure for it is something very close to my heart. My mother died when I was 12 years old of cancer and I do not want that same thing to happen to me or to my children. So my Aunt and cousin have participated ever year in the MD Anderson Ovarian Cancer Quilt Project for many years and I also started participating every year. Last September a large group of us met and worked on the quilts and than we all took one home to finish up. My cousin and I were on the design team and you can see us designing quilts on the wall in this pic:

Here is my finished quilt that will be up for auction: Pin It

It's hand quilted and has a beautiful turquoise backing. My mother loved hearts and collected them, if you zoom in you can see the hearts quilted into it.

The auction for all of the quilts will be held October 26th - November 3rd. For more information you can go to the website here.

College Graduate and Tablerunner!

I'm finally done!!! After many, many years in college I have finally finished! My official degree is a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

So now that I'm done with school it's time to find a job. I have applied to an endless amount of jobs and have been on a few interviews. I'm hoping something good will happen in the next few weeks! The good news is that I also get to start finishing all of my sewing projects!

I also finally got a picture of the table runner I made for my husband's Grandmother for Christmas. I used the Cherry Bar Table Runner Pattern from Moda Bake Shop. The pattern is by Vickie at Sugar Spun Quilts. I absolutely loved this pattern it was SO EASY and quick to make!

Have a great week!
