UFO's done

I’m a little behind on this post. But I still wanted to share with y'all some of my recently finished projects.

These three towels I made with my new Babylock. They were Easter gifts for family members.

I also made this t-shirt for a friend’s little girl. She was turning 2 and having a princess party.

This last project is from the Serendipity class at my favorite little quilt shop – Quilter’s Crossing with my favorite instructor Margaret Grice. We are making a different bag every month from the book Serendipity Bags byKay Whitt.

Have a fantastic day!

Thanks Quilters Crossing - Deb & Mandy

I'm so honored that my friends over at Quilters Crossing in Tomball, Texas Deb and Mandy gave me a Liebster Blog award. They are the owners of Quilters Crossing - one of my favorite quilt shops. Go check out their blog at Quilters Crossing. I love going by their shop and visiting with them and planning my current sewing project. I also love the great classes they have at the shop. Thank you Deb and Mandy for the award.

As per the rules of the award I would like to nominate the following blogs for the award:

1. Donna - Donna's Lavender Nest
Donna is a fellow Texan. I enjoy following her blog and appreciate all of her wonderful comments that she leaves on my blog. She makes quilts and other crafty creative things.

2. Brooke - SillyMama Quilts
Brooke has another one of my favorite blogs. She makes great quilts that I inspire to be able to make quilts as beautiful as the ones she creates.

3. Jessica - Quilty Habit
Jessica reminds me so much of myself. She is a college student (which I used to be) and she loves to sew and quilt. She makes great modern quilts and likes modern fabric but with a vintage flair.

4. Mandy - Bobbidink Designs
Mandy is another person I can relate too. She makes great quilts and bags. She is always so willing to help me with color choices for bags, quilts or whatever I'm working on. Her blog displays her great quilts.

5. Emily - Insanity Rules
Emily is also a fellow Texas and she has 3 little boys. She has a fun blog with everything from crafty projects to organizing projects and recipes. I enjoy reading her blog.

Meet my Baby!

I've been having so much fun with my new baby. She also does embroidery. Which I'm loving. My first project on her is a quilt for my living room.

It's displayed on my new design wall that my husband helped me make last weekend. The pattern I used is the Snuggly Layer Cake Throw found on the Moda Bake Shop. I used mostly Heather Bailey fabric but also added a little bit of Amy Butler fabric.
The back of this quilt is Snuggle fabric which makes it perfect to cuddle up on the couch with. In order to finish it I have to wait for our JoAnn's to reopen in a few weeks to get some snuggle backing for it. They closed our old JoAnn's and they are opening a new one 4x the size of the old one. I can't wait to finish this quilt so I can use it while lounging on the couch searching on pinterest!

Heather Bailey Bag

A few months ago I made this Heather Bailey Saturday Market Bag. It's really a great bag. I took it along with me on our cruise and it made a great bag for Excursions and hanging out by the pool. I had some trouble with the handle technique she used in the pattern. But I want to make another one and master the technique.Pin It

Two weekends ago I made this bag. It's a great bag for a quick trip to the store or for a casual night out.

My new sewing room.......

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
As promised I have finally taken pictures of my new sewing room. In November my husband and I moved from our very small 2 bedroom condo into our new house. With this move I now have my very own sewing room.

Sorry the pictures aren't that great, it was dark out.
It's still a work in progress and needs some decorating. I have lots of idea for it but I haven't decided which ones to do yet.

Amy Butler Swing Bag

After some frustration and 2 broken needles I'm finally finished with my latest project - The Amy Butler Swing Bag. It's a gift for my mother in law. I can't blame my frustration on the pattern because her gifts always cause me trouble. Not sure if it's because I want to make it perfect or if it's just the projects I pick for her.Pin It

I think overall it turned out well. I certainly learned some lessons on this project. I did not like that Amy has you close the bag up at the top on the curved area. It leaves open stitches visible when you close it up. I prefer to close my bags on the inside where it's not so visible. I will probably make this bag again but with my own twist!

A Magic Vacation....

We just got back from vacation on the new Carnival Magic. It just arrived in Galveston this last Fall and is the biggest boat on the Carnival fleet. (along with her twin the Dream)

We had so much fun visiting Cozumel again and exploring Grand Cayman and Jamaica for the first time.
The Magic and the Dream are the first boats to have a new service called Dream Photography. We were happy to get the opportunity to have pictures done with the Dream photographers. Here are a couple of them:
We love cruises and always recommend them. They are a great way to see different places all in one vacation. We really liked the new Magic and plan to vacation on it again.
