My Momma's Chicken 'n Dumplings Recipe.....


1 rotisserie chicken (pull meat off the bones)

1 carton of chicken broth

1 can of cream of chicken soup

¼ cup milk

2 cups of water

2 cans of Homestyle buttermilk biscuits (no substitutes)


Pour chicken broth and chicken soup into a pot and heat on

high until

it starts to boil.

Once chicken broth starts to boil, add 1/4 cup milk to broth. Bring back to a boil. Once the broth is boiling, lower to medium high heat and start breaking the biscuits into pieces and drop into the broth. (You can use 1 can of biscuits but I like lots of dumplings so I use two cans.)

Once you get them all in...push them down with a spoon to make sure they are all in the broth. Add as much water as needed (about 1 – ½ cups). Add salt and pepper to taste.

Add chicken, cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.
