Book Advice Please....

I need some book advice from all of you seasoned quilters! I am almost done working my way through Alex Alexander's Start Quilting book. So now I need some suggestions for my next book to work through. It still needs to be for beginners because I still feel like I'm a beginner.
Of course I will be ordering the first Moda Bake Shop Book - Fresh Fabric Treats.
Thanks for the help!

  1. By no means am I a seasoned quilter but when I was first learning to quilt my favorite was 'Your First Quilt Book (or it should be!)' by Carol Doak. I'm sure you're beyond that point but it is a very good book if you are still learning basics. :)

Right now my favorite book is 'Jelly Roll Quilts' by Pam Lintott and Nicky Lintott. There are several quilts I want to make from it, and one that I'm currently working on. The instructions are very good, and they give different color options which personally helps me to visualize.

Good luck in your quest! I look forward to seeing your progress! :-)

  2. Wow! What a great idea. I guess when I was beginning to quilt there were some great classes I could take or I fell in love with a project and just began that way. Sorry, no great advice. Enjoy the process though!

  3. my best suggestion is to go to a quilt shop or Barnes and noble and look thru the quilt books in the store. Find one that your inspired by and there are a few quilts in it that you want to make.
Books are expensive so you need to make the most out of them.
Or how about just a pattern? There are loads of free patterns on the web as well as tutorials . There are wonderful books to teach you a method, applique, paper piecing, making little quilts...if thats what your looking for...
I am sure you will find a book that will inspire you
    good luck!
