Weekend Projects and a Sneak Peak

This past week was an exciting but long week of classes. On Monday I used my Christmas gift card to take a Rotary Cutting Class in Humble at It's a Stitch. Wednesday I started back at Sam Houston State for my last semester of undergrad.
Then on Thursday I went to my favorite shop Quilters Crossing in Tomball for a bag class. The bag was the Bowtucks Tote and the teacher was Margaret Grice. Margaret is a wonderful teacher I learned so much from her class. I look forward to taking more classes from her in the future.
The bag was very fun to make and I think it might be the beginning of my bag making addiction! I used Michael Miller's bonehead fabric on it. I have been admiring this fabric for a while but couldn't figure out what to use it on. So when I signed up for this class I decided it would be the perfect fabric for the project.
I'm trying to decide what bag to try next. I really want to make an Amy Butler bag but I'm kind of intimidated by her patterns. Being a beginner I'm not as good at reading patterns and understanding what they are trying to tell me to do. But I'm getting better.
So the rest of my weekend has taken up by two other projects. The major one I'm trying to finish is my Moda Funky Monkey Baby Quilt for a baby shower in a few weekends. I am about 70% done with it. Right now I'm working on quilting it and then I just have the binding left! Here's another sneak peak of it.
I'm also working on some other baby shower stuff since I'm helping throw two showers in the next three weeks. So right now I'm working on making another pair of baby booties! Oh and did I mention that I'm a bridesmaid in my good friends wedding in two weeks!! I'm super excited for her! So that means three weekends in a row full of events.
Well I guess it's goodbye to the weekend and hello to the week. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
